PHARMACAL COMPANY LANDS GOVERNMENT CONTRACT
New
Ownership Group Continues to Build Business and Create Jobs

WI (September 9, 2003) Wisconsin Pharmacal Company announced
today that it has been awarded a United States Government contract
to supply water purification tablets to the US Military.
The agreement designates Wisconsin Pharmacal Company as the exclusive
provider of water purification tablets for military use for through
2006 and has provisions for the government to purchase up to 300
million tablets during the term of the contract. Over the next two
weeks, Wisconsin Pharmacal Company will ship an initial stocking
order of 10 million water purification tablets to various government
supply depots. The Company markets these same water purification
tablets commercially under the brand name of Potable Aqua.
Wisconsin Pharmacal Company traces its roots back over one hundred
and five years ago when it began as a cooperative manufacturer for
corner drug stores. In May, 2003, John Wundrock and Jeffrey Potts
led an ownership group which purchased the company that included
the brands of Potable Aqua water purification tablets, Sting
Eze insect bite relief, Atwater Carey first aid kits,
Baitmate fish attractants and Reflect sun care products
and contract manufacturing operations. Wundrock had previously owned
and operated Wisconsin Pharmacal Company from 1971 to 1996. Potts
is the former President and CEO of The Company Store of La Crosse,
WI. The transaction was completed with the assistance of financial
partners TCF Bank and the State of Wisconsin Investment Board.
John Wundrock, President and CEO of the new Wisconsin Pharmacal
Company stated, "We are delighted to have secured this contract
in such a short period of time. The new Pharmacal is just about
100 days old, and weve already exceeded our most aggressive
expectations for the business. This contract continues to build
upon the momentum and excitement were experiencing both with
our branded products and with retail partners like Wal*Mart, Target
and REI." Jeffrey Potts, COO of Wisconsin Pharmacal Company,
added, "When we purchased the business, it was gratifying to
protect up to sixty Wisconsin jobs. Over the last three months,
the performance of our employees has been exemplary. Due to these
excellent efforts, we have already added staff in key areas and
look to continue to build business and expand employment."
