Back in 1896, when Wisconsin Pharmacal was founded in a brick building on Water Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the young company was a pharmacy co-op retailer with ambition. It was founded on the principles of hard work, honesty, quality and the notion that a person was only as good as his or her word. These principles served the company well as it flourished and continue with it today.

Pharmacal has grown by leaps and bounds and is no longer a pharmacy co-op retailer but the leading manufacturer of brands in the outdoor recreation and safety markets. Through a philosophy of product innovation and acquisition, Pharmacal has undergone multiple plant expansions at its headquarters in Jackson, Wisconsin.

CEO John Wundrock bought Wisconsin Pharmacal in the early 1970s as a young entrepreneur. After moving the company to Jackson, growing it to over $20 million in sales, and then selling it to a private equity group in 1996, John repurchased Wisconsin Pharmacal in June, 2003. He returns as CEO with a new management team eager to grow and innovate.

Potable Aqua® water purification tablets, Sting-Eze® insect bite relief products, Atwater Carey® first aid kits, Reflect® sunscreen and BaitMate® fish attractants are well-known company brands. The company also acts as a contract manufacturer of Repel® brand insect repellent and an expanding number of consumer products.

Although Pharmacal products can be found at retail giants, the company has kept its belief in a warm, personal touch and is proud of its reputation as "a good place to do business." No wonder Pharmacal is the leader in outdoor health and safety.
